Board of Revision for 2025 Assessment Roll

Deadline for accepting appeals: October 1st, 2024 4:30 p.m.

Board of Revision date: October 16th, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.

Prior to filing a complaint against the liability to taxation, amount of an assessed value, or classification of property, you are encouraged to discuss the matter with the Provincial Assessment Branch; phone 204-239-3320.

As per Section 43 (1) of the Municipal Assessment Act, an application for revision must 

a) be in writing; 

b) set out the roll number and legal description of the assessable property for which a revision is sought;

c) set out which of the matters referred to in subsection 42(1) are at issue, and the grounds for each of those matters; and

d) be filed by delivering it or causing it to be delivered to the Municipal office or by serving it upon the secretary, at least 15 days before the scheduled sitting date of the board as indicated in the public notice. 

Applications sent electronically must conform appeal received by municipal office. 

Fees

A minimum filing fee of $50 must accompany your application with an additional fee of $10 for each $50,000 of assessed value of the property to a maximum of $300. The filing fee is refundable in the case where an appeal is reached prior to the Board of Revision sitting. The fees are non-refundable if a decision cannot be made at the Council level and the property owner chooses to file an appeal to the Municipal Board.
