Conditional Use

Conditional Use

In a zoning by-law, there are uses of the land that are either permitted, conditional use or not permitted, depending on the zoning. If you are wanting to add, complete, change something on your property that does not  permit such activity you will be required to apply for a conditional use.

To determine your zoning please refer to the zoning regulations in the zoning by-law, if you are unsure please contact the municipal office at (204)385-2332.

What is the cost of a conditional use application?

The application fee is $300.00

What is the process for a conditional use?

Once a completed application has been submitted at the municipal office, a public hearing is advertised by the municipality. This hearing will take place during a regular council meeting. The Planning Act requires that a Notice of Public Hearing to be mailed out to neighboring properties within 100 meter radius 14 days prior to the hearing. This notice is also posted at the municipal office, and on municipal bulletin boards in the community. Members of the municipality can attend the public hearing voicing their supports, objections, or concerns of the proposed conditional use. Council will then make the decision and any required conditions.
